The project is backed by the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia through PHARE CBC Italia –Slovenia 2000-2006 Measures: 2.2 – across-the-border cooperation in the tourist field – 2.2.2. Replacement and improving of the tourist facilities.The pubblication of the web Portal "Lands of Aquileia" represents the concrete result of the above mentioned Project "Anthropic Park”. Its aim is to try out a network among the European areas, bound up with thematic cultural paths focussing on the across-the-border tourism. It also aims at new methods that can make a more competitive tourist offer on the international market. This Project wants to increase the value of the characteristics and the relationship of these areas, highlighting their cultural, natural, environmental, historic, landscape, ethnic, gastronomic and tourist heritage. "Lands of Aquileia" is not only a trademark but also a territorial identity, a project that makes institutions to integrate and cooperate, through a web Portal, a vertical geo-referenced instrument. Flexible, dynamic, multilingual. The Portal increases the value of the local cultural-tourist heritage, also thanks to a precise geographical placing on the cartography, supervised by Geographic Information System.
PROJECT ACCOMPLISHERS
The programe INTERREG IIIA ITALY-SLOVENIAN – 2000-2006 takes place in an area where these two nations meet. 17 Friuli and 3 Slovenian Municipal Districts partecipated and several Italian and Slovenian organizations have worked together. This regional Project have been realized by a group of Municipal Districts, in which the leader is Terzo di Aquileia.
